Flexible Working Appeals

You may appeal in writing within 14 days of receiving our written decision. Your appeal must be dated and must set out the grounds on which you are appealing. It will be heard by a director of the company, who may or may not be your Head of Department, but will not be your Line Manager.

We will hold a meeting to discuss your appeal at a convenient time and place. Our Head of HR will also be in attendance. You may be accompanied at the appeal by a companion who may be a co-worker or trade union representative, provided you notify us of this in advance. Your companion must respect the confidentiality of the hearing and failure to do so may constitute misconduct on their part if they are an employee of T&H. A companion may make representations, ask questions, and sum up your position, but will not be allowed to answer questions on your behalf. You may confer privately with your companion at any time during the appeal.

The director hearing the appeal will let you know the company’s final decision in writing as soon as possible after the appeal, including their reasons. The director’s decision on this is final and there is no further right of appeal.
