If you receive a request to attend Jury Service, please let your Line Manager and HR know. Jury Service is a civic duty and you will be permitted time off work to attend on full pay.
Jury Service is usually mandatory for 10 working days, but it may run beyond this period. You may have the option of opting out of cases likely to run for longer than two weeks. If so, we would expect you to do so. The only other reasons you can be excused Jury Service are that you already have a work trip or holiday booked, or a pending operation or other serious health issue.
Once you are assigned a case, please keep your Line Manager and HR informed of the likely length of the trial.
